  1. Carefully wipe 2 kilograms of sweet glass cherries, cut the stems in half, place in a canning jar, and sprinkle with a little cinnamon and cloves.
  2. Clarify 1 kilogram of sugar, stir in half to three-quarters of a liter of good French brandy, and pour over the cherries.
  3. When the jar is completely cold, seal it with a pig's bladder.
