Bratwurst with Apples

4 servings

Bratwurst with Apples

Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Cut 6 fine, peeled apples into 8 pieces, sprinkle with sugar, and let stand for several hours.
  2. At the same time, let cleaned currants swell with a little lukewarm water on a warm plate.
  3. Melt a good piece of butter in a pan until golden brown, place 250 g bratwurst in it, arrange the apples around it, sprinkle currants and a little lemon zest over them, and slowly fry covered.
  4. As soon as the apple pieces on the bottom are soft, turn them and remove the cooked ones so they don't fall apart.
  5. Once the sausage is cooked, add 1 glass of Rhine wine to the sauce, arrange the sausage, and garnish with the apples.
