Boiled Mackerel

  1. Mackerel is a fatty, soft fish.
  2. After scaling, gutting, and washing, place it in strongly salted water with plenty of vinegar for one hour.
  3. For cooking, bring salted water with onions, tarragon, thyme, basil, pepper, and cloves to a boil, add a glass of vinegar, and cook the fish in it for only a few minutes.
  4. Serve with Travemünder Sauce.
