Millet Porridge

Ingredients
- 250 g Millet
- Water (as needed)
- 2 tbsp Butter
- Salt (a little)
- 0.5 l Milk (alternative)
- Sugar (for sprinkling) (a little)
- Cinnamon (for sprinkling) (a little)
- Raw ham, spiced goose, or bratwurst (as a side dish) (as needed)
Instructions
- Scald the millet with boiling water, let it sit for a while, and drain the water; repeat this several times until the water remains clear.
- Then cook the millet in water with butter and salt until tender and serve thickly with meat.
- Alternatively, set the scalded millet with cold water without butter and gradually add the milk until the millet is tender and a firm porridge.
- When serving, pour brown butter over it and sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon.
- Serve with raw ham, spiced goose, or bratwurst as a side dish.
