Pearl Barley Soup with Milk

Ingredients
- 1 cup fine pearl barley
- butter (piece)
- water (a little)
- 1 l milk
- salt (a little)
- potato flour (optional) (a little)
- cinnamon and sugar or mace (to preference)
Instructions
- Bring the fine pearl barley to a boil with a small piece of butter and a little soft water, then cook slowly until soft, adding more boiling water as needed.
- Add the milk and a little salt, and let the soup cook until quite creamy.
- Finally, if desired, thicken with a little dissolved potato flour and season as preferred with cinnamon and sugar or finely crushed mace.
