Apple Soup with Currants
4 servings
Ingredients
- 2 soup plate sour apples, unpeeled, cut
- 1 pcs stale white bread, cut
- 1 l water
- 1 piece cinnamon
- 2 pcs cloves
- salt (a little)
- 1 tbsp butter
- 0.5 cup cleaned currants
- sugar (to taste)
- 12 pcs finely crushed sweet almonds (optional)
Instructions
- Place the apples, cut white bread, and cold water over heat, add cinnamon, cloves, and a little salt, and cook until soft.
- Strain the soup through a sieve, bring to a boil again, add butter and the cleaned currants, and sweeten with sugar to taste.
- If desired, finely crushed sweet almonds can also be cooked with the apples.
