Rolled Dumplings
4 servings
Ingredients
- 1 cup flour
- 1 cup milk
- salt (a little)
- 2 pcs egg yolks
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 pcs white bread roll
Instructions
- Mix 1 cup of flour with 1 cup of warm milk and a little salt.
- Add 2 egg yolks and 2 tablespoons of melted butter, and let the well-mixed dough rest for 15 minutes near a warm oven.
- Dice one white bread roll and toast it light yellow in butter.
- Then roll out portions of the dough with a rolling pin into sheets about 1/2 cm thick (dust the board and pin with flour), cut into strips about 3 fingers wide, sprinkle with the toasted bread cubes, and roll up into dumplings.
- Secure the top end and sides of the dough strip by pressing.
- Cook the dumplings in salted water for 15-20 minutes and serve immediately with stewed fruit.
- You can also cook them in beef broth with finely chopped parsley and serve with cooked beef.
