Rolled Dumplings

Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Mix 1 cup of flour with 1 cup of warm milk and a little salt.
  2. Add 2 egg yolks and 2 tablespoons of melted butter, and let the well-mixed dough rest for 15 minutes near a warm oven.
  3. Dice one white bread roll and toast it light yellow in butter.
  4. Then roll out portions of the dough with a rolling pin into sheets about 1/2 cm thick (dust the board and pin with flour), cut into strips about 3 fingers wide, sprinkle with the toasted bread cubes, and roll up into dumplings.
  5. Secure the top end and sides of the dough strip by pressing.
  6. Cook the dumplings in salted water for 15-20 minutes and serve immediately with stewed fruit.
  7. You can also cook them in beef broth with finely chopped parsley and serve with cooked beef.
