Poppy Seed Pielen or Silesian Poppy Seed Dumplings

Ingredients
- 250 g white poppy seeds
- milk (as needed)
- 4 pcs bread rolls or milk breads
- 100 g currants
- almonds (chopped) (a little)
- sugar (as needed)
- cinnamon (a little)
Instructions
- Wash the poppy seeds several times, then blanch with boiling water.
- Drain the water and leave the poppy seeds in a warm oven.
- Afterward, finely grind the poppy seeds in a mortar with uncooked milk.
- Cut four bread rolls or milk breads into cubes and moisten with milk.
- Mix the softened bread with the poppy seeds, add the currants and some chopped almonds.
- Mix everything well, sweeten to taste, fill into a glass bowl, and sprinkle with sugar and cinnamon.
