Curaçao

Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Prepare 1 liter of rubbing alcohol, 125 grams of orange or Seville orange peel, and 250 grams of light brown rock candy.
  2. Place the peel in water, after which the white part can be easily separated from the yellow part; cut the yellow peel into pieces and place it in jugs with the rubbing alcohol.
  3. Cork tightly and let stand for 14 days near the oven or 3 weeks in the cellar, shaking daily.
  4. Then press out the peel, add the rock candy, broken into small pieces, and return both to the bottle.
  5. Shake daily, and once the sugar has melted, filter the alcohol through blotting paper.
