Tree Cake
4 servings
Ingredients
- 2 portions Ribbon cake dough (double quantity, see Ribbon Cake)
- 6 pcs Egg whites (beaten)
- Powdered sugar (a little)
Instructions
- Prepare double the amount of dough according to the Ribbon Cake recipe.
- Attach the hollowed-out tree to a rotisserie spit, brush with butter, and cover with white paper wrapped at small intervals with twine.
- Rotate the tree over an open flame, first slowly, then faster, until it is completely warmed without the paper turning brown.
- Wipe off any dripping butter, then pour the first layer of dough around the tree, rotating it first slowly, then faster to form ridges.
- Once the first layer is baked to a light yellow, pour the second layer over it and continue until all the dough is baked; for long ridges, rotate quickly while pouring.
- Finally, pipe the beaten egg whites over it, sprinkle with powdered sugar, and let it dry and cool before removing the cake from the tree.
