Apple Slices Baked in Butter or Lard

Ingredients
- 1 kg apples (large, juicy)
- sugar (crushed) (a little)
- white wine (a little)
- 1 tbsp rum
- batter (for dipping) (as needed)
- lard (for baking) (as needed)
- sugar and cinnamon (for sprinkling) (a little)
Instructions
- Peel, core, and slice the apples into finger-thick rounds.
- Sprinkle with crushed sugar, drizzle with white wine and rum, and let steep for one hour.
- Dip the slices in batter and fry them one by one in lard until golden yellow.
- Arrange them quite hot on a platter and serve sprinkled only with sugar and cinnamon, without sauce.
- When frying, ensure the fat is well heated before adding the slices.
