Bread Casserole with Apples

Ingredients
- 1 heaping soup plate tart apples, sliced
- 1 soup plate grated bread, half dark, half white bread
- 125 g sugar
- 75 g currants
- 125 g butter
- cloves, ground (a little)
- cinnamon (a little)
Instructions
- Mix the grated bread with half of the sugar and the spice.
- Sprinkle one layer into the prepared dish, top with butter pieces, then add a layer of apples, currants, and sugar.
- Alternate layers in this manner, finishing with bread.
- Top the casserole generously with butter and bake at high heat for 1¼ hours.
